Note 2 at Lk. 2:32: It was a well-established fact in the scriptures that the Christ was to bring salvation to the Gentiles (Isa. 9:2; 42:6; 49:6; 60:1-3; Acts 13:47; 28:28). Yet the Jewish New Testament church had much trouble receiving the Gentiles (Acts 10:28; 11:2-3; 15:1-31; Gal. 2).
