Note 2 at Lu 2:32: It was a well-established fact in the Scriptures that the Christ was to bring salvation to the Gentiles (Isa 9:2, 42:6, 49:6, 60:1-3; and Ac 13:47), yet the Jewish New Testament church had much trouble receiving the Gentiles (Ac 10:28, 11:2-3, 15:1-31; and Ga 2).
