Previous Verse
Luke 7:30
Next Verse

But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

Note 4 at Lu 7:30: The counsel spoken of here was the message of repentance from sin and faith in the coming Messiah that John the Baptist preached. In rejecting John and his counsel, they rejected the counsel of God. This illustrates Mt 10:40-42.
