Next Verse

And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:

Note 1 at Lk. 8:41: Just as in the case with the centurion's servant (Mt. 8:5-13; Lk. 7:1-10), Jesus could have healed this girl by only speaking the Word (Ps. 107:20), but He did as He was requested to do. This illustrates how the Lord ministers to us according to our faith (Mt. 9:29). Apparently, this man's faith would not have received this miracle if Jesus would have ministered to him as He did to the centurion. Therefore, Jesus ministered to him at the level where his faith was and didn't rebuke his little faith (Jas. 1:5).
