And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
Note 2 at Lk. 8:46: Is it possible that Jesus, who was God manifest in the flesh (1 Tim. 3:16) and therefore was all- knowing, did not actually know who touched Him? Yes! Although Jesus' spiritual man was divine, He took upon Himself a physical body (Phil. 2:6-8; Heb. 2:14-18) with its limitations as can be seen by the fact that He became tired (see note 1 at Lk. 8:24, p.149), hungry (Lk. 4:2), and increased in wisdom and stature (see note 1 at Lk. 2:52, p. 30). Jesus drew on His divine ability through the gifts of the Holy Ghost (Examples: Mt. 17:24-27; Lk. 6:8; 19:5; Jn. 1:47-48; 4:16-19) but so can we (Jn. 14:12; 1 Cor. 12:7). Before His resurrection, He operated as a man (sinless) by receiving from His Father through faith (Jn. 8:29 with Heb. 11:6).
Because Luke states that the woman "saw that she was not hid" (Lk. 8:47), it is evident that Jesus received a word of knowledge from the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12:8; see note 3 at Jn. 1:48, p. 42) and had singled out this woman. However, this was after He felt the power of God flow out of Him and heal her. The woman was healed before He discerned her.
This illustrates that healing is governed by law and not by a case by case decision from God based on His feelings toward us. This woman received her healing by the law of faith (Rom. 3:27) before Jesus knew anything about her. Healing is governed by law! Impassioned pleas to God will not obtain the miracle we seek, although Jesus is touched by our feelings (Heb. 4:15). It requires faith (Heb. 11:6). It's not because Jesus doesn't know our needs and hear our cries that miracles don't happen (Many people in this multitude had needs and were thronging Jesus to get those needs met.), but rather it's because very few know how the law of faith works.
