Luke 11:28
Next Verse

But he said, Yea rather, blessed [are] they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

Note 1 at Lk. 11:28: For those who have ears to hear (see note 3 at Mt. 11:15, p. 120), this should forever settle the question of what place the virgin Mary should occupy. She was certainly blessed to be chosen as the mother of the Son of God (see note 2 at Lk. 1:28, p. 10), but anyone, man or woman, who keeps the Word of God is more blessed than she was. It is idolatry to pray to Mary or revere her more than Mary Magdalene, Mary, the brother of Lazarus, or any other woman who was a disciple of Jesus.
