Note 5 at Lu 11:49: By comparing Mt 23:34 with this verse, it is easy to see that Jesus Himself was speaking this prophecy. No prophecy in Scripture parallels Lu 11:49-51 (the closest is 2Ch 36:15-16). Therefore, this phrase "Therefore also said the wisdom of God" is a part of Luke's narrative and is not the words of Jesus. Thus, Luke clearly stated that Jesus is the wisdom of God, a truth that is well established in Scripture (Isa 11:2; Mt 13:54; Lu 2:40; 1Co 1:24, 30; Col 2:3, and 9).
