That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
Note 6 at Lu 11:50: God deals with us according to our knowledge (see note 13 at Joh 9:41; Mr 6:11, Lu 12:48, and Joh 15:22). Through Jesus, God had given a greater witness of Himself to this generation than any other in history, and they would therefore receive the greater judgment (see note 4 at Mt 12:44).
