That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
Note 6 at Lk. 11:50: God deals with us according to our knowledge (see note 13 at Jn. 9:41, p. 240; Mk. 6:11; Lk. 12:48; Jn. 15:22). Through Jesus, God had given a greater witness of Himself to this generation than any other in history and they would therefore receive the greater judgment (see note 4 at Mt. 12:44, p. 132).
