Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find [it]?
Note 1 at Lk. 15:8: Just as with His previous parable (Lk. 15:4- 7), Jesus is stressing His priority on seeking and saving that which is lost (Mt. 18:11; Lk. 19:10). Just as this woman no doubt secured the remaining nine pieces of silver before she sought for the lost coin, the Lord is not teaching us to neglect the saints to minister to the lost (see note 2 at Lk. 15:4, above). He is simply establishing priorities and illustrating His love for the sinner, for which He had just been criticized (Lk. 15:2).
