Luke 16:3
Previous Verse
Luke 16:3
Next Verse

Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.

Note 2 at Lk. 16:3: There is no indication in this parable that this steward was physically unable to dig ditches. It was more likely that he was unwilling to dig ditches. Most people who would steal have a real aversion to hard work.

Note 3 at Lk. 16:3: This steward should have been just as ashamed to steal as he was to beg.
