Luke 16:31
Next Verse

And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Note 8 at Lk. 16:31: The greatest witness that anyone could ever receive is the witness from God's Word. The gospel is the "power of God unto salvation" (Rom. 1:16-17). We are born again by the Word of God (1 Pet. 1:23; see note 1 at Mt. 9:38, p. 163). Faith for salvation comes from hearing God's Word (Rom 10:17). Miracles get people's attention but they don't produce salvation. If they did, everyone who witnessed the miracles that Jesus performed and His resurrection would have repented.
