Remember Lot's wife.

Note 8 at Lu 17:32: This is a very stern warning not to become ensnared by the lust for things. Just as Lot's wife looked back with longing for the things she was leaving behind and suffered the judgment of God (Ge 19:17, 22, and 26), so it will be possible for those who recognize Christ's coming to miss their deliverance and be condemned with the world if their hearts are set on earthly things (Mt 6:19-21 and 24).
