Luke 23:29
Previous Verse
Luke 23:29
Next Verse

For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed [are] the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck.

Note 2 at Lk. 23:29: Jesus was prophesying concerning the days when Jerusalem would be besieged and conquered by Titus, the Roman general (see note 4 at Lk. 19:43, p. 356), and possibly beyond that to the suffering of the Jews.

Note 3 at Lk. 23:29: Jesus is saying that the suffering that was coming on the Jewish nation would be so severe that women would wish that they had never brought children into the world.
