Luke 24:13
Next Verse

And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem [about] threescore furlongs.

Note 1 at Lk. 24:13: One of these two disciples was named Cleopas (see note 5 at Lk. 24:18, p. 492). There is a possibility that the other one was Simon Peter (see note 12 at Lk. 24:34, p. 494).

Note 2 at Lk. 24:13: The exact location of Emmaus is not agreed on by scholars. Most believe that Emmaus corresponds to the present day Kulonieh northwest of Jerusalem. At any rate, the exact distance of Emmaus from Jerusalem is given (sixty furlongs), which is about 7.5 miles. This would make Emmaus just under a two-hour normal walk from Jerusalem.
