And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed [it], and brake, and gave to them.
Note 10 at Lk. 24:30: It is possible that this breaking of bread was done in the same manner as the last supper in the upper room (Mt. 26:26-29; Mk. 14:22-25; Lk. 22:19-20) and that is what caused these disciples to recognize Jesus. If so, that would further suggest that one of these disciples was an apostle that was present at the last supper (see note 11 at Lk. 24:31, below).
