Previous Verse
Mark 1:42
Next Verse

And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.

Note 4 at Mr 1:42: Faith is released by speaking words (Ge 1:3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 22, 24, 26; Pr 18:20-21; Ro 10:8-10; and 2Co 4:13). The faith that made Jesus marvel was a faith in the authority of the spoken word (Mt 8:8 and 10). We shall have whatsoever we say (qualified by Jas 4:3) if we believe and doubt not in our hearts (Mr 11:23). This leper was healed as soon as Jesus had spoken.

Note 5 at Mr 1:42: As can be seen from Mark's account, two things happened: (1) The leprosy departed, and (2) the man was cleansed. Jesus not only removed the disease but also restored the damaged parts of his body.
