Mark 6:36
Next Verse

Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.

Note 4 at Mk. 6:36: The people's need for food was even more acute because of the fact that some of them had expended a lot of energy to run and meet Jesus on the other shore of the Sea of Galilee (see ref. d at Mk. 6:33, this page). This was also compounded by the fact that they were in a desert place (see ref. c at Mt. 14:15, this page) and the day was far spent so that soon they would not be able to get any food unless they went all the way back home.
