Mark 7:6
Next Verse

He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with [their] lips, but their heart is far from me.

Note 6 at Mr 7:6: This is the Bible definition of a hypocrite. This is someone whose words and heart (actions) don't agree. Hypocrites may act the part of a Christian or possibly talk like Christ, but they won't do both. When both confession and action from the heart are consistent with God's Word, it equals salvation (Ro 10:9-10).
