And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.
Note 4 at Mr 9:10: This was the fifth time that Jesus had spoken of His death and resurrection (see note 1 at Mt 16:21), yet His inner circle of disciples had not yet understood what He meant.
