Next Verse

And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord:

Note 6 at Mk. 11:9: This is a possible fulfillment of Jesus' prophecy in Luke 13:35 (see note 6 at Lk. 13:35, p. 284) and a direct fulfillment of Psalm 118:26-27. Notice in Psalm 118:27, after the praise of the people that is reported here during Jesus' triumphant entry, that the Psalmist said, "bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar." This is exactly what happened with Jesus, the Lamb of God (Jn. 1:29), a few days later as He was crucified for the sins of the world.
