Note 5 at Mk. 12:34: Jesus saw that this lawyer answered Him with understanding (see ref. i at this verse) and that he had the understanding necessary for salvation. He was close but he wasn't there, yet. He had to do more than just know the truth. He had to act on it (Jas. 2:17-20). The scriptures don't tell us if this lawyer went on to act on this knowledge and actually enter into the kingdom of God.
