And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave [it] to them: and they all drank of it.

Note 2 at Mr 14:23: Some people have interpreted Matthew's account of this instance (Mt 26:27) where Jesus said, "Drink ye all of it," as meaning that all of the wine in the cup must be drunk. However, Mark's account of this same instance makes special mention that all the disciples drank of the cup, indicating that Jesus was admonishing all the disciples to drink rather than to have the disciples drink all of the wine.
