And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest [it].

Note 4 at Mk. 15:2: Pilate's actions during this trial imply that he was not familiar with who Jesus was prior to this time, as Herod was (Lk. 23:8).
