Mark 15:33
Next Verse

And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.

Note 9 at Mk. 15:33: It is not certain how far this darkness extended. Some scholars have translated this verse to read that darkness was over all the earth. It is reported that a Dionysius observed this darkness in Heliopolis, in Egypt (The Pulpit Commentary: Mark-p. 308) and exclaimed, "Either the God of nature, the Creator, is suffering, or the universe is dissolving."
