Previous Verse
Matthew 11:19
Next Verse

The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

Note 4 at Mt. 11:19: This phrase relates back to verse 15 where Jesus spoke of these people as being spiritually hard of hearing. He is simply saying that those who are walking in the wisdom of God (children of wisdom) will be able to see the truth that John did not have a devil and that Jesus was not a glutton or a winebibber. Those who twist the facts are showing that they do not have "ears to hear" (v. 15).
