Note 20 at Mt. 25:1: This parable of the ten virgins is clearly continuing the lesson on the need to be ready for the Lord's return. Those who are not ready will have no time to prepare once the Lord comes. Just as with the five foolish virgins, there will be no second chances. This parable, along with the other three in this discourse, also teaches that the Lord will make a separation. Not every one who cries unto Him, "Lord, Lord" will enter the kingdom of heaven (Mt. 7:21).
