He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

Note 2 at Mt 27:42: Jesus did something greater than coming down from the cross. He rose from the dead, yet they didn't believe Him (see note 8 at Lu 16:31).
