Note 2 at Mt. 28:17: Many people have thought that if they could have only been present during Jesus' earthly ministry and have seen Him resurrected from the dead, then they would certainly be strong believers. This scripture is proof that this is wrong thinking.

In many ways, it took more faith to believe Jesus was the Christ for those who walked with Him on earth than it does for us today. They saw His humanity which we don't see. We have the benefit of the scriptures which even surpasses the supernatural manifestations that the disciples witnessed (2 Pet. 1:16-20; also see note 8 at Lk. 16:31, p. 302).
