Philippians 1:12
Next Verse

But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things [which happened] unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;

Note 1 at Phil. 1:12: Paul the prisoner is trying to comfort those who are not in prison. He isn't wanting them to feel badly about his situation, so he tries to get them to look at things the way he does. His imprisonment is worth it because it advances the kingdom of God. Most people would find this of little comfort because most people are more concerned with advancing themselves than they are in advancing the kingdom of God. But Paul's heart and focus was so fixed on God that any price he had to pay, even imprisonment or death, was justified if it brought glory to God. What an attitude!
