Philippians 2:18
Next Verse

For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.

Note 13 at Phil. 2:18: It is amazing that Paul would joy and rejoice even if he was martyred, but he's saying that the Philippians should joy and rejoice with him if that happened. It's an honor to be martyred. There are great rewards and a better resurrection to be gained for martyrs for the faith (Heb. 11:35). This is not the attitude of most saints, but it was the attitude of the apostle Paul and it will be the attitude of all of those who share Paul's belief that "to die is gain" (Phil. 1:21).
