Note 10 at Rom. 4:6: King David (see note 8 at Acts 13:22, p. 652) was living under the old covenant of law (see note 3 at Rom. 3:19, p. 757). However, this scripture that Paul quotes from Psalm 32, as well as the things David wrote in Psalm 51 when repenting for his sins against Uriah and Bathsheba, show that he had a tremendous revelation of the salvation by grace through faith that was coming with the Messiah.
