Note 4 at Rom. 10:16: Contrary to popular belief, an anointed messenger with an anointed message is not always well received. This quotation from Isaiah shows that not everyone received his message about the coming Messiah. The same thing was true of many other prophets that the Lord sent to Israel including Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and even Jesus.
