Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Audio commentary on this verse

Note 16 at Ro 12:21: We cannot fight evil with evil. Evil has to be overcome with good. It is frustrating to see the schemes of Satan and his kingdom; however, we must never let our frustration drive us to using their tactics. The wrath of man does not accomplish the righteousness of God (Jas 1:20). Instead of cursing the darkness, turn on a light.
