Note 2 at Rom. 15:17: Paul brought the gospel to the Gentiles, which granted salvation to those who received it. Therefore, he had quite a bit to boast about (see ref. k at v. 17, this page). However, he said his boasting was through Christ Jesus which clarifies that this was not done in arrogancy or pride.
