Romans 16:14
Previous Verse
Romans 16:14
Next Verse

Salute Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermas, Patrobas, Hermes, and the brethren which are with them.

Note 23 at Rom. 16:14: Asyncritus (incomparable or unlike), Phlegon (burning, scorching), Hermas (variation of Hermes, a Greek deity), Patrobas (father's life), and Hermes (this was the same name as the Greek god that corresponded to the Roman Mercury) were Christians in Rome to whom Paul sent greetings. This is the only mention of these individuals in scripture.
