The Gospel Of Peace - Audio Tape
The angels proclaimed peace on earth at Jesus' birth, so why are there still wars and conflicts between men? In this teaching, Andrew answers this and explains what kind of peace this is talking about. Jesus came to reconcile man to God. Andrew also states that God is no longer mad at us and has given us a covenant of peace in Jesus.
Detail
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." That was the message of the angels to the shepherds nearly 2000 years ago. Yet, there has not been peace on the earth between men. In just this past century, there have been two world wars, and today, millions of people are still engulfed in war. How could this be? Were the angels wrong? Certainly not!
The angels were not proclaiming an end to strife between men. That will not occur until the Prince of Peace comes again and establishes His physical kingdom here on earth. They were proclaiming an end to the war between God and man. Through Jesus, all of God's demands for justice were met. Jesus bore our sins so that we could bear His righteousness (2 Cor. 5:21). We are now free from sin and its penalty, which was rejection from God.
Isaiah said it this way, "In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer. For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee" (Is. 54:8-10).
That's the peace that the angels were proclaiming: peace between God and man. That peace has come to every man and woman who has received Jesus as their Lord. "Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift" (2 Cor. 9:15).
This teaching will help you to take full advantage of the peace that has been provided for us through the sacrifice of Jesus.
