08/19/10 — "I did not want to be preached to…"
A friend mentioned you to me, and big red flags came up because I did not want to be preached to. I sure didn’t want to waste my time watching a television preacher. My friend sent me your CDs of God’s unconditional love. I listened to them and then watched a couple of your broadcasts. I was still very skeptical and kept waiting for you to contradict yourself or fall into the pattern of all of the ministers and preachers I had always heard. It didn’t happen. I have watched all your daily broadcasts for the last thirteen months. Here is the best part. Three months after I was introduced to you, I hit a total low in my life related to the loss of my wife of thirty-one years, and loneliness, despair, and depression had won out. I heard you say from the Bible, “Ask and you will receive, knock and the door will open.” I went to the Lord and asked for my sins to be forgiven and asked Jesus to come into my life and be my Savior. When I said “Amen,” it was totally amazing. He was there, I was not alone or lonely any longer, all of the tension, bitterness, anger, and hate were gone. I was smiling. Now Jesus walks with me daily, and when I give thanks to Him and all that He has given me, I also thank Him for bringing you into my life.
I pray that God keeps blessing your ministry. Your teaching is refreshing, and you bring understanding in the Word of God. I am seventy now, and while I regret that it took so long in my life to know the Lord, so many years of anger and strife that I allowed to dominate me and my thinking, I am so very, very thankful that He is with me now.
