09/16/11  —  "I have learned not to let my emotions run away from me…"

I am listening over and over again to the teaching you did November 2010 in Ft. Worth, Christian First Aid Kit. This is a teaching that has really changed my life (along with Harnessing Your Emotions). I have learned not to let my emotions run away from me.

I received a notice that I owed back taxes in my business. It was totally unfounded, but at first, I didn’t realize that I really didn’t owe it. I was dismayed (it was a considerable amount of money), but then I got to thinking, Well, it sure won’t help me if I panic about this! I had been meditating on your teaching, so not panicking was fresh on my mind. Oh my, what a difference that made!

I called the tax representative, explained to her that we did not owe taxes to the state of Arkansas, because we were a Kansas corporation. She apologized and said, “Well, just send me copies of your returns for those years, with a brief letter of explanation, and we’ll get this off the books.” Case closed!

I really think if I had panicked, I would have forgotten that I couldn’t possibly owe them anything, I would have run the gamut of emotions, and put my mind, emotions, and body through a lot of unnecessary stress! Instead, I was rejoicing with joy unspeakable and full of glory! Amen!

Now my appetite is whetted for more of this teaching. Sometimes I think your program should be called “Practical Christianity!” because it gives tools to use, really practical advice, and scriptural teaching that get you through life’s challenges! Thanks so much!
