11/21/08  —  “… I was afraid to read my Bible. Certain scriptures terrified me…”

Your ministry is partly responsible for me being alive or at least not being in prison right now, as I have been battling a cocaine addiction. And while I am still fighting that battle and have a number of other problems, your teachings and mainly the Living Commentary are helping to renew my mind.

When I first saw you on television a few years ago, I was afraid to read my Bible. Certain scriptures terrified me, and each time I would run into one of them, my hope would be destroyed, and I would abandon reading the Bible. As I watched you on television and on the internet, I realized how many false beliefs I had concerning Scripture and how much false teaching there is out there. It was not until I got your Living Commentary and started using it that I got over that fear. Sometimes I get up in the morning to study the word for about thirty minutes and end up spending two or three hours in the Living Commentary. I wish I could send everyone I know one.

I also send my family members Bible studies that I do using the Living Commentary, and they have been very blessed to get them, and that has gotten them into reading the Bible more.

I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate your Living Commentary.
