The Lord doesnβt always speak to me atΒ three-thirtyΒ in the morning, but when He does, Iβve learned to listen. This time it was only a few words:Β βGod adds His super to your natural to produce the supernatural.βΒ The longer I lay there thinking about it, the more I realized I needed to write it down.Β
So I wrote a little booklet about this because too many Christians misunderstand how God works. They believe God moves independently of them, and they sit on the sidelines waiting for a miracle to fall from heaven. But thatβs not what the Bible teaches.Β
Iβve always said this, and Iβll say it again: the worst doctrine in the body of Christ is the sovereignty of God doctrineβat least the way many people define it. The Bible says God is almighty, first in rank and authority. But some have twisted that to mean God works without us and that nothing is required from us. Thatβs simply not true.Β
In 2 Peter 3:9, it says,Β βThe Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.βΒ God wants everyone to be savedβbut He wonβt force us. He doesnβt force us to walk in joy, peace, or righteousness. Thatβs our choice. Thatβs our responsibility.Β
James 4:1β2 makes this crystal clear:Β βFrom whenceΒ comeΒ wars andΒ fightingsΒ among you?Β come theyΒ not hence,Β evenΒ of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.βΒ
Itβs not God whoβs letting sickness, poverty, or despair happenβitβs us when we fail to step into the authority Heβs given us.Β
That is huge. But most Christians donβt see it this way, and they just wait for God to act alone. But Jesus already gave us authority. Matthew 10:1 and 8 says:Β βAnd when he had called untoΒ himΒ his twelve disciples, he gave them powerΒ againstΒ unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. . . . Freely ye have received, freely give.βΒ
We have a part to play.Β If we donβt act, the supernatural power of God cannot flow through us.Β
Thereβs a great story that illustrates this in Matthew 17:24β27. Itβs about Peter and the coin in the fishβs mouth. Jesus could have provided the money directly, but He didnβt. He told Peter to cast the hook. That was the natural action required. The fish swallowing the coinβthat was supernatural. God had already lined everything up, but if Peter hadnβt thrown the hook, nothing would have happened. Godβs provision was waiting, but Peter had to act.Β This principle is everywhere in Scripture. God doesnβt just hand us money or blessings out of thin air. Deuteronomy 8:18 says:Β βBut thou shalt remember the LordΒ thy God: forΒ it isΒ he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant.βΒ God gives us the power, the ability, and the anointing to act. He doesnβt create money. He doesnβt fix the lottery. He equips us to step into what Heβs already made available.Β Let me share a real-life example. Decades ago, a woman in one of the Bible study groups I held was struggling financially. She had a family, children to feed, and bills piling up. She was cooking clay in her kitchen for her kids to play with because she wanted a safe, non-toxic alternative to the store-bought stuff. And while she stirred that clay, she prayed, βGod,Β what can I do in the natural for You to put Your super onΒ itΒ so I could see Your supernatural provision?βΒ And right there, God answered her and gave her an idea: make the clay in different colors, shape it into small cylinders, put six cylinders in a bag, and sell them at fairs. She obeyed. She acted in the natural. And within a year or two, her small operation grew into a thriving business with over eighty employees. Millions of dollars came inβnot because God miraculously created money, but because He put His super on the natural actions she took.Β Even in finances, itβs the same. Luke 6:38 says,Β βGive, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.βΒ God doesnβt rain money from heaven. He doesnβt just place it in your bank account. He sets in motion opportunities and people to bless you, but you must act. Apply for that job, meet that person, start that business, send that message, or offer that help. Thatβs the natural action God wants to multiply with His supernatural power.Β And letβs not forget healing, relationships, or any area of life where you are waiting on God. First Peter 2:24 says,Β βBy whose stripes ye were healed.βΒ God has already made provision. Matthew 10:8 says the same:Β βHeal the sick . . . : freely ye have received, freely give.βΒ But if you donβt step out in faith, nothing flows.Β Itβs a partnership. God sets up the supernatural, but He flows through our obedience. He blesses what we put our hands to. Psalm 138:2 says thatΒ He has magnified His Word above all His name.Β Godβs Word is the promise. Itβs the foundation and the guarantee. But we have to act to see it fulfilled.Β IΒ encourage you to get the materialsΒ forΒ God Adds His Super to Your Natural to Produce the Supernatural, available in several formats.Β TheyΒ exploreΒ this principle through Scripture and real-life examplesΒ moreΒ thoroughly,Β helpingΒ you understandΒ itΒ on a deeper level andΒ beginΒ walking in it.Β I believeΒ these resources willΒ be a real blessing to you.Β The Miracle That Started with a Fishing TripΒ
