Fall 2020 Student FAQs Regarding the Return to School
On-Campus Classes:
WILL CLASSES BE HELD ON CAMPUS FOR FALL 2020?
Yes. We are making plans to have all students return for in-person, on-campus classes beginning fall 2020. It is Andrew Wommack’s top priority to see this happen. If state or local authorities do not permit on-campus classes this fall, we will inform you as soon as possible.
REGISTRATION/ORIENTATION DATES:
- Third Year—Tuesday, August 25.
- Second Year—Wednesday, August 26.
- First Year—Thursday, August 27.
- Night School—Thursday, August 27, 5 p.m.
- Saturday School—Saturday, August 29, 9 a.m.
- First Day of school—Monday, August 31.
We have already sent out some emails about registration/orientation, and we will send more information soon. If you have not received this information, please check your junk email box and/or email Admissions@awmcharis.com.
DO I NEED TO QUARANTINE FOR 14 DAYS AFTER I ARRIVE IN COLORADO?
Yes. However, we have multiple plans in place to help you transition into the start of school, regardless of when you arrive.
WHY ARE YOU ASKING ME TO QUARANTINE?
Charis students who live here use the shops and services alongside other members of the community. We recognize that not everyone in the Woodland Park community is walking in faith about health and healing. Therefore, we want to be respectful of our local community and the impact we have on it. Quarantining is a simple yet powerful way for us to show our community that we care about them. It may also bring you peace of mind that we are doing all we can to protect you, too.
After quarantining, please respect the wishes of business owners by wearing masks when entering enclosed places if requested, unless you have a medical issue that prohibits you from covering your face.
Ministry leadership has been doing everything they can to ensure that on-campus classes resume on time for the fall semester, and quarantining is part of that plan. Andrew Wommack Ministries and Charis Bible College management even made the decision to convert some of our summer conferences to live-stream events to reduce the risk of COVID-19 and ensure that school could start on schedule.
WHAT IF I CAN’T BE IN WOODLAND PARK 14 DAYS BEFORE SCHOOL BEGINS?
We understand you might arrive in Colorado less than 14 days from the start of school. Please don’t worry about registration/orientation. We have a plan!
If you are unable to arrive in Colorado to quarantine for 14 days before the scheduled registration/orientation period for Charis, it will NOT affect your ability to begin classes. It just means that you will be required to start your classes from home until you have completed the quarantine period.
We will record (either via video or audio) all the registration/orientation sessions. These recordings will be uploaded to your student portal account, which you will have access to once you have been approved as a student.
At registration/orientation, we will give you your syllabus and parking permit, take your ID photo (new students only), etc. You can easily pick up these items on the first day you’re able to be onsite if you cannot attend registration/orientation due to being in a quarantine period.
If you miss some days of school due to a quarantine period, you will be able to access all your lessons through your student portal. You will also be able to access PDFs of your syllabi through your student portal. We will be in constant communication with you to ensure you are kept up to date with all on-campus lessons.
Whether or not you can make it to registration/orientation, we are asking you to register online at https://portals.charisbiblecollege.org/student/login.asp. This is a mandatory online registration that you need to complete as soon as possible, with a deadline of September 4, in order for you to start school this fall. This will also save you time when you come to campus.
If you plan to pay by cash/check, we will take your first payment at registration/orientation. If you are unable to attend due to quarantining, please contact CharisAccounting@awmcharis.com and they will walk you through a different process.
If you have further questions, please feel free to reach out to us at one of the following emails:
WILL I HAVE TO WEAR A MASK IF WE HAVE IN-PERSON CLASSES ON CAMPUS?
There is a chance that staff and students will have to wear masks while onsite. We are currently following the guidelines of local authorities. As of July 20, 2020, everyone in the state of Colorado is required to wear masks in shared, public areas. If this changes, we will let you know.
WHEN IS THE LAST DATE TO REGISTER AS AN ON-CAMPUS STUDENT?
September 4, 2020.
WILL I BE ABLE TO PICK UP MY SYLLABI BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS?
Yes, registration/orientation (August 25–29) is when we will be handing out syllabi. Don’t worry if you can’t make it because of quarantining or traveling. You can collect them when you are able to come to campus. An electronic version of your syllabi will be loaded to your student portal. You will receive login details for your student portal once you have been approved as a student.
I HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ATTEND CHARIS (OR I AM A RETURNING STUDENT BUT I HAVE NOT YET PAID). HOW DO I REGISTER AND PAY ONLINE?
- Go to https://portals.charisbiblecollege.org/student/login.asp.
- If you need assistance logging in, please contact Admissions@awmcharis.com.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AMOUNT I NEED TO REGISTER AS AN ON-CAMPUS STUDENT?
- First- and Second-Year Students: $835
- Third-Year Students: $835 + Track Fee
I WILL BE A SECOND-YEAR STUDENT THIS FALL. WILL I GO ON A MISSIONS TRIP?
Yes. We are working diligently on planning second-year missions trips. We will communicate those details soon.
If the Authorities Do Not Allow On-Campus Classes to Resume in the Fall:
DO I STILL HAVE TO PAY THE ON-CAMPUS TUITION AND FEES IF I START SCHOOL FROM HOME (“REMOTE LEARNING”)?
Yes. You will be considered an ON-CAMPUS student, even if we have to start with the “remote learning” option.
IF I HAVE TO START MY CLASSES THROUGH REMOTE LEARNING, WHY CAN’T I REGISTER AS AN ONLINE STUDENT UNTIL I COME TO CLASS?
“Online” and “remote learning” do not mean the same thing.
- ONLINE means you are a Distance Ed student and will do your classes completely online for the whole fall semester. These online classes do not follow the same flow as the on-campus/remote learning classes. You register through Distance Education for online classes at DistanceEd@charisbiblecollege.org.
- If you choose online classes, you will not be able to switch to on-campus classes until the spring semester. (ONLINE options are available to First-Year students only. All Second- and Third-Year students must register for on-campus classes, even if we start with remote learning.)
- REMOTE LEARNING: If you plan to attend on-campus classes as soon as we are allowed, you must register as an on-campus student at https://portals.charisbiblecollege.org/student/login.asp and begin school as a remote learner.
If you have any questions about remote learning, please email Admissions@awmcharis.com.
IF WE ARE NOT ON CAMPUS, WILL THERE BE SOMEONE TO HELP ME IF I HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT MY CLASSES/TESTS/LOGIN DETAILS?
Yes. We will support you in all aspects of your education with Charis. We will send you details regarding who to contact should you have a remote learning question.
I WILL BE AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT THIS FALL. IF WE HAVE TO START CLASSES FROM HOME, WILL THIS AFFECT MY VISA STATUS?
Please contact Admissions@awmcharis.com if you have any questions. They are best informed how remote learning will work for international students and visa status.
If you have any other concerns or questions regarding the start of school this fall, please reach out to us at:
- StudentServices@awmcharis.com”
- Admissions@awmcharis.com”
- Recruiting@charisbiblecollege.org” or your enrollment counselor
Despite the challenges we have all faced during this uncertain time, we are very much looking forward to seeing you, and are excited for what God has in store for all of us!

Hello Charis Students,
Blessings to you and to your families! We wanted to let you know that you have been hand-chosen by God to live in the time you are living. God knew that the things we see unfolding around us would happen, and he already made provision for what the entire world would need. That provision is you! You have the answers a desperate world is looking for. You have peace, joy, love and stability during turbulent times. Again, we would just like to encourage you to “Let your light shine!”
We also wanted to let you know that due to the most recent announcement by our governor and local health officials, we are suspending on-site classes at the Woodland Park Charis campus for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. All students will finish out the year via online learning. We understand that this is not what we were hoping for, but as we have been doing, we will continue to provide live teachers in addition to our already plentiful online curriculum to make this the best experience possible during these times.
We know many of you will be wondering about graduation for second and third-year students. We are currently in communication with Teller County to see how we can make this happen. Our desire is to have the second and third-year students here on campus and to hold graduation ceremonies. If this can be worked out, it would only be open for the students due to the health regulations in place. We would ask that the families of the students attend the graduation via live stream. Of course, if there are any students in second or third year who would prefer not to attend graduation on site and want to view the ceremonies live stream, you are welcome to do so.
As we work through these details with the local health officials, we will be sure to keep you informed, including the dates and times of these events. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing you on ZOOM as we continue to go through our program. Each of you are an amazing blessing and we are excited to see all that the Lord has in store for you. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your class Assistant Dean if you have any further questions.
We love and appreciate each of you and look forward to seeing many of you on campus next school year!
Blessings,
Charis Bible College, Colorado Staff
April 17, 2020 at 7:45 p.m.
It has been great catching up with many of you via ZOOM and live stream, and I know that you are having a great impact wherever you might be! We wanted to reach out to you with the latest information concerning the remainder of the school year. As you are aware, we are receiving daily updates from President Trump, as well as Governor Polis.
As of today, we wanted to inform you that May 2nd (Saturday Hybrid School) and May 4th (Full-Time School) are still the tentative dates in place for the re-start of Charis courses on campus. It is our expectation that Governor Polis will be addressing everyone in the days to come with a more definitive direction for opening the state of Colorado back up.
Because of the fluidity of this situation, we want to also remain flexible. We have decided to give you the option to complete your studies through the online format for the remainder of the school year should you choose to do so. We know that travel for some of you might be more difficult, and that you may have more peace to stay where you are. If that is the case, please know that this option is available to you!
We would ask that you contact us through one of the channels below if that is your decision:
- 1st Year – Joshua Bartlett: joshuabartlett@awmcharis.com
- 2nd Year – Elly Pierre: ellypierre@awmcharis.com
- 3rd Year – Tessa Swearengin: tessaswearengin@awmcharis.com
For those of you preparing to come back for the tentative start of school dates on either May 2nd or May 4th, please give yourselves 3 days (72 hours) to ensure you are feeling well before returning to campus. This time frame is the most recent recommendation given to us by Teller County health officials. You can still do your studies online during this time, and if you are not feeling well prior to your return, you will be able to complete your studies online as well.
No matter how you are finishing up this year, we would encourage you to finish your school year strong! God has so much for you over this next season, and we find ourselves with an opportunity we might never have again in our lifetime to minister to people who are more open, and looking for answers! We pray that you take advantage of every opportunity put in your path, and we know that this is only the beginning of a life-long journey of walking in the amazing calling God has for your life.
We speak blessings, health and provision over each of you, and we look forward to seeing you again soon, whether this May or in September.

When do Classes Resume?
Due to changes in the mandates from the Governor, we now plan to resume classes on campus on May 4th. We are very much looking forward to having all of you back on campus and getting back to normal!
The authorities strongly encourage everyone to self-quarantine for 14 days after traveling out of state – especially to high risk areas.
So if any of you are traveling out of state, we encourage you to return to Colorado by April 20th to allow for that.
