A New Awakening

It is an honor to be a part of Jason Rapert’s efforts to Save the Nation. Some of the greatest conservative leaders of our day are sharing their insights on where we stand as a nation and what must happen for this nation to survive and thrive. I’m right there with them. I too have recognized that we are at a crossroads, or tipping point, in this nation. We can’t survive if we continue down the road that the liberals have put us on. I know this has been articulated very well by the other writers, and I’m in complete agreement. We are in the deadliest war our nation has ever faced.

Abraham Lincoln said in an address in Springfield, Illinois, on January 27, 1838:

Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the ocean

and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia,

and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own

excepted) in their military chest, with a Bonaparte for a commander,

could not by force take a drink from the Ohio or make a

track on the Blue Ridge in a trial of a thousand years. At what

point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if

it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come

from abroad. If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher.

As a nation of freemen we must live through

all time or die by suicide.

The cultural war we are embroiled in today has come from inside our own borders and sadly, many don’t recognize the enemy is amongst us. They don’t wear a different uniform or speak another language. They claim to be patriots and use the most noble-sounding words to conceal the true description of their nefarious intentions, and the uninformed

don’t realize what is taking place. But make no mistake, the cultural war raging in our nation is as serious a threat to our liberties as any we have ever faced.

It is indeed a dire situation in which we find ourselves. This can and has led many to throw up their hands in despair thinking we have passed the point of no return. What’s the use? There were over twenty million Christians who didn’t even vote in the last election. They either were so disconnected they didn’t care or were so discouraged that they thought their one vote wouldn’t make a difference and wasn’t worth the effort.

I must admit that at times I’ve had to fight discouragement when we see a Supreme Court nominee saying they aren’t qualified to say what a woman is, or our highest officials advocating the mutilation of children through surgery and puberty blockers, or having drag queens perform in front of kindergartners and saying that it is good. Truly, we have reached the situation Isaiah described in Isaiah 5:20 where people, “…call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

But I am not discouraged or in despair. I have hope because of the Lord!

I believe this nation was founded by the Lord, and although we have strayed far from our Founding Fathers and the Constitution they gave us, there is a remnant today just as surely as when the Lord told Elijah there were still seven thousand left in Israel who had not bowed the knee to Baal (1 Kgs. 19:18). We have millions who are not in agreement with the woke agenda being promoted by the elites, and I believe this giant has been awakened and is rising up.

On March 5, 2021, I was speaking at a conference in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. My grandniece and her husband were starting a church there and this was the first meeting they had ever organized. There were seven hundred or more people there, and I was so blessed to see the Lord raising up this next generation of world changers. It took me many years to draw that many people to an event. And the anointing of the Lord on that meeting was tangible.

We were singing the song about how the Lord has been faithful to us and the goodness of the Lord is running after us. I was praising the Lord for his goodness and thinking about how these young people are catching fire. I was encouraged that they are stepping up and taking the torch of the Gospel into the next generation. Praise the Lord!

As I thought on that, I heard the Lord clearly speak to me and say, “Someday, the people in this meeting will be telling the young people of the next generation what it was like to be a part of the Third Great Awakening in America.”

Wow! This came out of the blue. I wasn’t even thinking about that. And I would not have used the word “awakening.” I might have said “revival,” “move of God,” or something like that. I knew this was the Lord speaking to me.

So, I said, “Are you saying we are going to have another Great Awakening?” The Lord replied, “No, it’s not coming. It has already started!”

Wow again! That was nearly too good to be true.

Like many others, I have been praying for the Lord to pour out his Spirit on America for decades. I’ve stood on 2 Chronicles 7:14 where the Lord promised us that if we would humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways, that He would hear, forgive, and heal our land. But this wasn’t a promise to an individual. This was speaking of His people (plural), not one individual doing this.

So, even though I and thousands or maybe millions of believers have been praying for this healing of our land, I didn’t know if enough of us had met these conditions. That’s why I was so blessed to hear the Lord say that the Third Great Awakening had already begun. Hallelujah! It’s not going to happen. It is happening now.

I know many will doubt that is true because, as David Barton expresses it, we listen to the “Ten Spies Network.” Our biased media is spouting lies and disinformation as surely as the ten spies brought back the negative report on the Promised Land (Num. 13). Sure, there are plenty of negatives to focus on just as those ten spies fixated on how tall the giants were and how strong their cities were. Those were factual truths, but The Truth was that God was greater than all those things and He had already given the land to them.

I remember asking David and Tim Barton to be guests on my TV program to discuss this Third Great Awakening. I was surprised when they told me that they had been saying we were already in another Great Awakening for over a year. They are constantly traveling the nation and have a feel for the pulse of what the Lord is doing like very few have, and they too believed this awakening had already started.

Another friend of mine was writing a book about the cultural war going on in America and he wrote in his manuscript that an awakening was coming. As he wrote that, the Lord told him that was incorrect. That shocked him. He was certain that there was going to be another awakening and he was puzzled about what the Lord was saying to him. That very day, he received an email from me about this Third Great Awakening having already started. The moment he read that, he knew what the Lord was saying to him. This awakening isn’t coming; it’s already here.

I received a second word about this awakening on July 4, 2023. That was the 247th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. We were holding our Summer Family Bible Conference in Woodland Park, Colorado, and the Lord inspired me to give a word of prophecy that by the 250th celebration of our Declaration, even our corrupt, biased media would be reporting on the retreat of all the wokeness in our society.

At the time, that looked completely impossible. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), critical race theory (CRT), men in women’s sports and locker rooms, and LGBTQ issues were being crammed down our throats from every direction. It didn’t look like an end was in sight to this onslaught against all reason and morality. But already we have hundreds of universities that removed their DEI and CRT curriculum from their classes. Major corporations like Ford, Target, Tractor Supply, John Deere, Harley-Davidson, Lowe’s and even Coors and Bud Light have backed away from their woke policies because of financial losses over their activism.

Last year, in the case of Kennedy v Bremerton School District, the Supreme Court overturned the 1971 case of Lemon v. Kurtzman which resulted in fifty years of case law against religious freedom being scrapped. Over seven thousand lower court cases in America had relied on Lemon to ban many kinds of religious expression in the public square. With the legal precedent for most of those decisions now gone, Christians are freer to express their faith today than they have been in decades.

Just recently, the Biden administration tried to rewrite Title IX of our federal civil rights laws to force schools across the country to follow radical transgender ideology, including allowing boys in girls’ restrooms, and boys to play in girls’ sports. The Supreme Court struck down Biden’s new regulations, holding that Title IX doesn’t require such nonsense, and Biden had no power to change the law.

The Supreme Court has also overridden the Biden administration’s efforts to forgive all student loans, which is a big government giveaway that you and I would have to pay for. They have also lost cases of extreme environmental restrictions that would further add to our national debt. Although they have done a lot of damage, it could have been far worse.

We are already seeing signs of politicians forsaking the Democratic party because of the extremism that has taken over. Even some of the mainstream reporters have broken out of lockstep with the liberals and are criticizing some of their false claims. It isn’t overwhelming yet, but I believe it will be even as the Lord spoke to me. This ungodliness is ebbing and is headed for retreat.

And in September of 2023, I received a third word from the Lord concerning this awakening that is happening in our nation. The Lord encouraged me and all of us who have been praying for this turnaround in our nation not to be discouraged. He said that in two years those who have been at the front of promoting all this ungodliness will be removed. That means that by September of 2025, many of those who have been leading this parade towards socialism, Marxism, and the destruction of this nation will not be in power. They will be removed.

I’m not totally clear on what “removed” means. But at the very least, it means they will lose their positions of influence. Many of those who have been shaking their fists in the face of God and railing against all that is good in our nation are going to be out of power. It can’t come quickly enough.

Sometimes, in an effort to wake people up and get them motivated to act, we present such a dire picture of things that it actually has the opposite effect on people. It’s like a football coach telling his team how big and powerful the opponents are to motivate them to get in the game and fight. But if it isn’t done correctly, that can instill fear in them and make them feel it’s impossible to win. A wrong emphasis on the enemy can put paralyzing fear in your own team.

Or you can compare it to a general trying to prepare his troops for battle. Certainly, they need to know who the enemy is and what they are up against. But there is no substitute in battle for a can-do attitude that, regardless of how much they are outnumbered or outgunned, they can win the battle. Our own history is replete with victories that statistically should not have happened. The British Empire was the mightiest military power on the planet back in the 1700s and yet they were overcome by an army comprised of mostly farmers rather than professional soldiers. The fledgling colonies actually lost more battles in the revolution than they won. But they won the war and gained our independence anyway.

During our Civil War, the North was close to losing the war for the first few years. There were many times that the South could have won, and our states would not have been reunited. The outcome of World War II was in jeopardy and not guaranteed at all. We suffered major setbacks. There was a time that the Axis powers seemed unstoppable, but praise God that the Allied powers didn’t shrink from the challenge. They won because they refused to quit.

Strong leaders have always challenged their people with slogans like “I have not yet begun to fight,” or “We have nothing to fear, but fear itself,” or the simple response of General Anthony McAuliffe when demanded by the Germans to surrender at the battle of the Bulge. His one-word reply said it all: “Nuts!” They were facing a superior German force of 250,000 but their resistance and a miraculous change in the weather made the impossible possible. The Germans’ last major offensive failed.

Likewise, we have to carefully balance the facts of how bad things are with the promise from 1 John 5:4 that “greater is He who is in us than he that is in the world.” Sure, the giants are big, but our God is bigger. Sure, we will lose some battles, but I believe we are going to win the war. Victory is within our grasp.

If you peel back the layers, this isn’t a fight between conservatism and liberalism. It’s a battle between light and dark, between good and evil, between God and the devil. The liberals have embraced every ungodly position that God’s Word speaks against. This is nothing less than the spirit of anti-Christ opposing all that God and His people hold dear.

As Jesus said in John 3:19–20 (KJV):

…light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

The reason the ungodly are so strong in their opposition against our Constitution and America exceptionalism is because America has been the greatest light for the Gospel in history. Our freedom is rooted in the truths of the Gospel. Our forefathers were mainly committed Christians, and all of them at least had a fear of God. The light of the Gospel exposes sin. Those who choose sin want to live out their ungodly choices without the shame and disgrace that truth brings, so they are pushing back against all that exposes their actions for what they are.

They mislabel the issue of abortion and call it “women’s reproductive health care.” The Bible calls it murder. They speak of not spreading “disinformation.” The Constitution calls it restricting our right of free speech. They call homosexuality, transgenderism, and all the other sexual sins “love” and respecting everyone’s individual rights. The Bible calls these things abominations. They can’t stand the truth of God’s Word, and they hate the Constitution that says our rights are derived from nature, and nature’s God.

This nation was founded by God-fearing men who based our founding documents on biblical principles. Our foundation doesn’t support their perverted ways, and therefore they are trying to lay a new foundation that will accommodate their actions. They reject God and His instructions and thereby make themselves gods. That’s idolatry.

So, this isn’t just a physical struggle. This is a spiritual battle and the spirit behind all this ungodliness has already been defeated. The battle between God and the devil was settled two thousand years ago. We’ve already been handed the victory through Jesus if we will just stand up and join the fight.

Based on what the Lord has shown me, I believe there is an awakening already in motion. This doesn’t make me want to rest but instead it inspires me to fight, knowing we will win if we don’t quit. Don’t let the Ten Spies Network put fear in you.

When Joshua sent the spies into Jericho after their forty years in the wilderness, Rahab told them that the moment the inhabitants heard about the Lord dividing the Red Sea for the Israelites (Ex. 14), their hearts melted and all their courage left (Josh. 2:10–11). That happened four decades before, when they first came out of Egypt. It would have been a “cakewalk” if they had just engaged the enemy, but fear made them withdraw from the fight and it cost them forty years in the wilderness.

The same thing could happen to us. Victory is only guaranteed if we fight. If we resist the devil, he will flee from us (James 4:7). It’s happening. It’s not over, but I believe America’s best days are still to come.

I encourage you to join with me and all those who are standing up for truth in this critical hour. I believe we have been destined by God for such a time as this (Esth. 4:14). The battle is the Lord’s and the victory is ours. Amen!
