The Lord is moving mightily in the earth, and we are seeing amazing things happen all over the globe through the Ministry. Today, we are excited to share what’s been happening over the last few years in AWM Indonesia and Charis Jakarta!

Charis Jakarta opened in 2017 after Andrew Wommack travelled there for a Gospel Truth Seminar with Paul Milligan. Directors Irwan and Angeline Siregar graduated from Charis Woodland Park in 2015 and went to Hong Kong for their Year 3 practical experience to prepare them for directorship. Irwan and Angeline opened Charis Jakarta in 2017 and are still leading it and the AWM Indonesia office to this day!
Since the pandemic, Charis Jakarta has grown exorbitantly! This past summer, they promoted 111 Year 1 students, graduated 76 Year 2 students, and graduated 52 Year 3 students! Their new school year has just begun with 123 Year 1, 80 Year 2, and 49 Year 3 students! With such extravagant growth, they’ve outgrown their existing facility and are praying for a new one.
What the Lord is doing and the growth He blesses them with is truly extraordinary. There is so much interest in discipleship in Indonesia! Irwan shares that they have been blessed to have a local company publishing all of Andrew’s books and booklets in their nation for the last 15 years, and many people have come to know Charis because of it. More people are also coming to Charis after hearing testimonies from their friends and family – breakthroughs, healings, restorations, and so much more. They have also shared these testimonies on their YouTube channel to reach even more people and attract them to the Ministry!

In July 2025, they had an amazing worship and healing tour with Daniel Amstutz, reaching Jakarta and three surrounding cities. It was very well attended, and many people were healed. Even some non-Christians came in, got healed, and received salvation. It was amazing!
Since the pandemic, Charis Jakarta has also been able to travel to Central Java for their Year 2 mission trips for the last three years, ministering to the churches there and giving out books. They have been sowing so much of the Word there, and the Siregars hope to plant a Charis location there in the future!
With so many alumni graduating from Charis Jakarta and being sent out into their callings, the Siregars have seen a need to keep their alumni connected and supported. Currently, they have 269 alumni, and last year, they set up an alumni club called Charis Indonesia Alumni (CIA). This exclusive club was launched with over 200 members! Irwan and Angeline know that graduating from Charis is only the beginning of your new life, and that if you encounter challenges and problems, it makes a huge difference to have a community of like-minded believers to keep you strengthened and encouraged. These alumni are also coming together to sponsor new students, and the alumni have gathered enough money to fund 75% of the tuition for 12 incoming students. CIA provides an effective platform for alumni to keep in touch with the Ministry and stay connected through a WhatsApp group, newsletter, and various events.

The Siregars share that what has blessed them the most is that so many of their students come from word-of-mouth referrals. Parents come, then bring their children, or children come and then bring their grandparents or their friends. Additionally, over the past 2-3 years, they have seen what Irwan calls a “global phenomenon” of younger people coming in droves, hungry for the Word. Some parents require their children to go to Charis before university, but many young people are coming on their own accord. Either way, they are getting the Word inside them at a crucial age, which will have unimaginable benefits!
AWM and Charis Indonesia currently have four full-time staff members, including Irwan and Angeline, five part-time staff members, and many volunteers, who all work together to make this possible! Irwan shares that many of their volunteers have been with them for 5 to 7 years.
For the last 4-5 years, Irwan and Angeline have intentionally created a funnel system to build their team. Year 1 students have specific serving requirements, Year 2 students move into more ministry-oriented serving requirements, such as prayer ministry or worship, and after that, students who continue into Year 3 continue serving on their own accord. With the number of students they have, you can imagine how many helping hands there are! Then, once a year, the Siregars host a very fun and special Volunteers Day celebration with lots of food and games, and they get a chance to thank and celebrate all their volunteers for their hard work, service, and ministry. Everyone looks forward to this awesome event, and this past year, Amy Swenson, Asia Pacific Regional Director, also got to attend!

Although unpaid, these volunteers are committed to the Ministry’s mission and vision, and many are partners with us. The Siregars share that they are so blessed to have them helping run the school and AWM office, and it’s amazing to see what the Lord is doing!
Having AWM and Charis in Indonesia is so important because we are bringing the true news of the Gospel that is transforming lives and churches and impacting how Christianity is viewed in the nation. Irwan shares that Indonesia is trapped in religious legalism, as he was, but AWM and Charis bring a message that God is not harsh but loving toward us. Charis is attracting countless current and future pastors, and after they graduate, many encourage their church leadership and congregations to attend Charis as well! Earlier this year, a pastor came to meet with the Siregars and thanked them for opening Charis in Indonesia. She had been watching AWM and Charis’s YouTube channels with teaching and testimonies, and has encouraged her congregation to come to Charis! This year, 22 students are from her church, nine more are from the same Bible Study, and another five are from another church whose pastor is also a Year 2 student!
As these pastors come and receive the revelation of the true Gospel, then go back to their church, how they minister the Word to their congregations is transformed. Irwan and Angeline share how the Ministry’s impact in Indonesia will only continue to grow because people are hungry fo
r truth and want to be free from the bondage of legalism, and we have the answers. When they grab hold of the teachings here, they are set free, and it spreads rapidly!

The Siregars share that the harvest is ripe, but they need many more laborers. As you think of AWM Indonesia and Charis Jakarta, we encourage you to pray for more people to come and join them in this vital work—people with a heart for the Gospel and the Lord. So many people across Indonesia are asking for a Charis location in their city, and we need people ready to take the challenge and plant more Charis locations. Irwan shares that one of their biggest challenges in finding more leaders is that few Indonesians can converse in English (less than 20%), and that’s required so that conversations can occur between international offices and our Colorado headquarters. Thank you for praying with us for the right people at the right time to come and help disciple many more people in Indonesia!
Irwan and Angeline share that it is a privilege and honor to work for this Ministry, and it’s the best job in the world! Thank you so much to Irwan, Angeline, and everyone supporting the work of AWM Indonesia and Charis Jakarta! You are truly making a difference that will span generations, with lives, families, and churches forever changed and impacted because of you!
