The Sabbath was to remind man of God’s rest. It was just a shadow in the Old Testament of what Jesus did for us in the New Testament. God rested because His creation was complete, and there was nothing else He could add to it. Adam and Eve were confident in what God had done, and all they had to do was receive it. This is our rest also. We are to stop trusting in ourselves and put our trust in what Jesus has already done.
