The Power of a Single Tape

I’ve talked to Ashley about this many times, and he said the teaching on that cassette was exactly what he needed. Since then, he has listened to many of my messages, but he said that first one was different than any other. It was like I had packed everything the Lord had shown me into that one recording. I didn’t go into great detail on any single teaching but just gave an overview of dozens of life-changing truths.

Ashley and Carlie were in a crisis and didn’t have time to study everything in depth due to the urgency of their situation. I recommend starting with a chapter from the book, then watching the corresponding video as a group, followed by discussion using the workbook. This combination creates a powerful discipleship experience.

From there, we move on to knowing who we are in the spirit—an understanding that totally changed my life. These materials have made a huge difference in many lives around the world, similar to our original Discipleship Evangelism course, which has a total of forty-eight lessons. That program has reached many, including about 500,000 people in Uganda, who were transformed by God’s Word through this course.

I remember meeting a Ugandan pastor named Grace who had been leading her church with a strict, legalistic approach. Her harsh approach had driven most of her congregation away. But after completing the Discipleship Evangelism program, she finally got ahold of the true Gospel. She sought reconciliation with the people she had hurt, and her church began to grow again.

Miracles and Revival

One amazing testimony involving Pastor Grace was when she prayed for a church member who’d been dead for two days. At the wake, while others were visiting, she slipped into the other room with the corpse. After about twenty minutes, that man walked into the room where all the people were gathered, alive and well. Needless to say, revival broke out, and her church now has around 1,600 members.

This kind of change happens through discipleship. That’s what it’s all about.
