Year 3 Ministry School Equips Students with Knowledge and Hands-On Experience

We’re excited to share with you how the Year 3 Ministry School program at Charis Woodland Park is transforming students’ lives, enabling them to go out and help change more lives! This amazing program exposes students to several experienced ministries with a variety of giftings and callings that have proven to help each student identify and fulfill the vision and dream God has placed in their heart. It is about discovering and becoming laser-focused on your calling!

After being discipled in Years 1 and 2, Ministry School serves as a great launching pad into fulfilling God’s dreams for your life! It is a place for equipping people to serve any ministry. In Ministry School, students learn church organization, how to disciple and counsel effectively, how to operate in the gifts of the Spirit and facilitate a move of the Spirit, how to teach and communicate, principles on leadership and networking, how to walk in wisdom and excellence, starting and building a ministry, building and contributing to a team, five-fold ministry, and more!

• Students will grow in their study and communication skills through teaching labs, become equipped through electives which train them in specific areas of ministry, and learn how to birth their ministry or help grow another’s ministry through ministry project groups!

The various electives help students grow in a smaller classroom setting, engage directly with instructors, and focus deeply on their chosen area of ministry. Here is a little bit about their different elective options:

• Pastoral: Equips students who feel called to pastor, plant a church, or serve on church staff with the tools and wisdom they need to shepherd people effectively.
• Teaching: Trains students called to teach God’s Word to study deeply, receive fresh revelation, and communicate effectively.
• Prophetic: Defines and explains the gift of prophecy and the office of a prophet, and develops students in a healthy, Spirit-led prophetic lifestyle that draws people closer to God and strengthens the church.
• Evangelism: Inspires and equips students to share the Gospel with boldness and compassion, making evangelism a lifestyle, not just an event.
• Helps: Equips students to serve with joy and excellence and teaches the biblical and practical ministry of serving leaders so they can fulfill their God-given vision.
• Next Generation: Equips students to minister effectively to children and youth, empowering the next generation to know and follow Jesus.

As the school year progresses, students are then encouraged to submit the ministry idea that God has placed on their hearts, and many of these are selected as Spring projects. Each chosen idea becomes the focus of a student team, where participants learn how to build a ministry from the ground up. Together, they develop a launch and growth plan while receiving hands-on training in areas such as defining the vision and mission, identifying and reaching their target people group, effective marketing, and creating a financial plan. Throughout these project classes, students are equipped with the practical structure and tools needed to expand their reach and impact more people effectively for the Kingdom.

Ministry School is a hands-on program that is very interactive and allows leadership to answer the students’ questions and give feedback and encouragement on their ministry training and development. It includes both broad and specific training in many different areas of ministry and personal growth and is so important because it can help you identify what God has put in your heart and master the practical and spiritual components of communicating the Word of God. As students sit under the teaching of experienced instructors, they gain valuable insight and wisdom.
