2025-2026 Charis Mission Trips: How Your Support is Helping to Transform Students’ Lives

All Charis students, during their second year of study, are required to travel worldwide to share the Gospel and God’s love. Andrew believes it’s a necessary part of becoming a minister of the Gospel.  This year, 525 Charis students and 63 staff and Year-3 student leads traveled to 15 locations worldwide!

The teams traveled to Ecuador, Poland, France, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Belize, Hungary, Costa Rica, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and Colombia. In the US, they traveled to Wyoming, Durham (North Carolina), and even in our local area of Colorado Springs.

As Charis’ mission teams from Woodland Park and our extension campuses stepped out in faith, the impact was tremendous with 1,353 salvations, 444 Baptisms of the Holy Spirit, 1,488 healings, and 25,495 people were ministered to by Y2 students.

Bogotá, Colombia Miracles

Even before the students left Woodland Park, God was working all things out for their good. Originally, 28 students from three extension campuses were scheduled to leave for Morelia, Mexico, on Tuesday, February 23^rd. However, on the previous Sunday, our Mexican host provided information that circumstances had arisen making it unsafe to travel to that location. At the time, the government had removed a drug dealer, which led to violence at a nearby airport.

The Mission staff had to move fast if these students were still going to go on a mission trip.  Within one day, contacts were made, approvals and arrangements were secured, and the students from Grand Rapids, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C. were headed to a church in Bogotá, Colombia.

One powerful testimony from this trip involved a woman in the Bogotá outreach. She had been praying for two or three weeks, asking, “Lord, how am I going to do this? I need help.” When the 28 mission trip students arrived, they answered her prayer. It was described as one of the most miraculous things that has happened this year.

Taking Every Opportunity to Train and Disciple: The Importance of Student Leads

This year, the Mission Department has undergone a transition regarding the use of Y3 student leads. The Y3 tracks of Charis Bible College provide students with leadership opportunities in their specialized area.  An additional opportunity that some students participate in is becoming a student lead on a Y2 mission trips. It is the perfect setting for a leadership training program. They are trained to be prepared, know what to do, and how to interact with fellow students as they help Y2 students get ready for their mission trips.

Staff leads are equally vital because they support, protect, and ensure everything runs smoothly and safely for students. They also serve as support for the student leads, enabling them to lead with confidence.

Crossroads Ministry: Spreading the Gospel in our Judea and Samaria

One new addition to the Mission Department outreach missions was the expansion of their connection with a local ministry, Crossroads Ministry. Crossroads is a ministry that Andrew supports as they impact the elderly for Christ, one care center at a time. Each spring, the Missions Department sends a group for one week to do local outreach in Colorado Springs. This year, they have also expanded student ministry by sending one group out a day per month to visit and serve in different care homes that Crossroads services.
